The Asia Pool Challenge is a high energy four day pool tournament that serves as the “Grand Finale” of a year-long competitive season. It is a “grassroots to global” search to crown the elite talent of the region. This year taking place in Jakarta 19 – 22nd August. There will be an opening event on August 18th, with the first of two challenges with Efren Reyes taking place.
Who is participating?
The event is the culmination of deep and extensive pool leagues that run all year across 9 major Asian cities. The top players from these leagues are brought together to determine: The Super Singles Champion (19th) and the Asia Pool Challenge Team Champions(20th – 22nd).
The Asian Pool challenge is an annual premier tournament that brings together elite talent from 9 major cities across the continent. Following a rigorous year of league play to identify the region’s top competitors, these select teams convene for an intense three-day showdown. It is a high-stakes battle of skill and strategy to determine which city will ultimately be crowned the APC Team Champion.
The 2026 APC will feature two major exhibition days headlined by the “GOAT” of pool, the legendary Efren Reyes. Known worldwide as “The Magician,” the sport’s most beloved player of all time will showcase the extraordinary skill and magic that made him a global icon.
The 2025 Asia Pool Challenge in Manila concluded with a historic victory for the Singapore Stingers, who secured back-to-back titles after a hard-fought defense. In a competitive three-team race that went down to the final matches, the Stingers finished with 119 frames, narrowly defeating the host Manila Patriots (113 frames) and the Saigon Legends(110 frames). Held at the Midas Hotel & Casino, the event highlighted the rising talent across the region, featuring standout performances from teams representing Bangkok, Jakarta, and Hong Kong.
Individual play was headlined by a thrilling Super Singles final, where the Manila Patriots’ Patrick McMillan edged out Ruairi McCarroll in a 5-4 finish. Beyond the tables, the tournament reinforce the strong bonds within the Asian pool community through its signature social events and high-stakes atmosphere. As the Manila chapter closes, the spotlight shifts to the Jakarta All Stars, who will host the 2026 edition of this premier amateur event in Indonesia.
